I decided to hire First Choice Construction managed by Chad McDougall to install 7 new windows and new vinyl siding on my home based on viewing some of their completed projects and speaking with one of their clients. Once they started the project, they continued to work through completion (3 weeks) with a one-week delay due to weather. We didn't want a company that would be there for 2 days and then gone for 2 weeks. The work was professionally installed, they left the job site clean and Chad communicated with me throughout the course of the project. A couple of unforeseen issues cropped up-carpenter ants chewing up a deck post and some rotting trim around windows-which we were able to deal with. Also, they were kind enough to install a new porch light and mailbox. I recommend them wholeheartedly-excellent customer service!

Overall I paid roughly a 10% premium to hire First Choice Construction to side my house. I was very specific with Chad from the beginning that I did not want a typical vinyl siding job. The one everyone sees and can notice while driving down the street that yes that is a vinyl house from the j-channel trim and standard corner boards. When we took a day and drove to all of the houses provided from the several contractors there was a pattern that developed where I could tell the ones that Chads company did in comparison to others. The way the J-channel laid and was mitered rather than butt and bent, using white J around the windows so it would blend better, and other tricks of the trade to stand out. I am sure you could get someone a little cheaper or a little quicker but in my opinion it was all worth it in the end. Nice, honest owner and crew which means a lot.
